Both parties oppose the creation of a Palestinian state on territory between Israel and Jordan. Instead, they promote active Jewish settlement of all the Occupied Territories, stricter measures to prevent Palestinian construction in occupied East Jerusalem, and programs to increase the immigration of Jews to Israel. Yaakov Katz. Official Knesset Profile. Born in Jerusalem in 1951 to an Orthodox Jewish family, Yaakov Katz studied at the controversial Mercaz HaRav yeshiva, regarded as the ideological home of the West Bank settler movement, and remains an avid supporter of Israeli settlement in all of the territories occupied in 1967, even vowing to return an Israeli settler presence to the Gaza Strip.
