Israeli warplanes retaliating for rocket fire from the Gaza Strip pounded dozens of security compounds across the Hamas-ruled territory in unprecedented waves of airstrikes Saturday, leaving over 200 Palestinians dead and more than 400 injured. Israel has vowed that the strikes are "just the beginning" of a new offensive against the besieged coastal territory.
